Way back in 2004, Madhu Sudhanan was the first Indian to become a member of the prestigious Visual Effects Society, a professional and honorary group whose goal is to maintain the high standards and promote the science of visual effects. These awards are considered a precursor for the visual effects winners at the Academy Awards, which will take place on February 27.
Madhu is the VES Ambassador for India, Malaysia and other parts of South East Asia, with a portfolio of work that includes visual effects work on such films as, Lord Of The Rings, CLICK, Spiderman 3, The Warrior's Way, Gulliver's Travels and many more.
Speaking with CG Today, Madhu said, ”It was a pleasure to spend time with my fellow artists and to be a part of honoring the outstanding work of my colleagues. These awards are the most important in the field of visual effects, and help maintain the integrity and quality of this emerging technology.”
Top winners at the ceremony included: Inception, Hereafter, and How to Train Your Dragon, followed closely by Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1.
