Legacy Film Festival LogoLegacy Film Festival is a celebration of the achievements, contributions and issues of black and minority ethnic people around the world. Its focus is largely, but not solely on that of the African diasporas as part of Black History Month in October. Legacy Film Festival was born out of an idea that came into being back in January 2010 as part of the plans for Brighton & Hove Black History Month. Legacy Film Festival will take place in Brighton & Hove, East Sussex, UK in October 2011. Films can be submitted under two age categories: ‘18 and under’ and ‘Over 18’ and it can be drama, documentary, comedy, animation or experimental film, should not be longer than 15 minutes.

Deadline for submissions is 31 July 2011 and this year’s festival theme is IDENTITY. Film submissions are open to everyone across the globe however the films must contain a strong contribution by people of black or minority ethnic descent and/or reflect their lives.
