EarthCam's strategic webcam locations along with the sole claim to the “first 3D New Year's webcast ever” is being attributed to the webcast viewer record.
EarthCam, the world's premiere webcam network, today announced visitors to its 15th annual live 3D New Year's webcast more than tripled over last year's numbers.
EarthCam delivered the world's largest party in Times Square directly to visitors live in 3D via its interactive New Year's website. The EarthCam experience of participating with comprehensive interactive coverage gave visitors the option of choosing their worldwide views on their computer or mobile device uninterrupted by commercials. EarthCam's strategic webcam locations, along with the sole claim to the “first 3D New Year's webcast ever”, is being attributed to much of the huge success.
"Being the first ones out there was a big thing," said Brian Cury, Founder and CEO of EarthCam. "No one ever webcast New Year's from Times Square in 3D. Promoting that we were going to be the first evidently drove a lot of viewers away from the same old on the networks right to their computers and 3D TVs.”
Visitors also enjoyed streaming video with audio through multiple live webcams sharply placed all around Times Square. Fireworks from São Paulo, Moscow, London, Key West, Montreal, Miami, Iceland, Niagara Falls, Prague, Malta, New Orleans and Paris, among others venues, gave the event a real around-the-world feel.
Much of the action is captured in archived footage on newyears.earthcam.com and can be enjoyed over and over again from many of the celebrations around the world.
