One of the world's leading animation studio, Prime Focus, has decided to open its studio in Mohali near Chandigarh.
Frameboxx Animation & Visual Effects, India's premier animation training institute with 50 centres across the country, organized a career seminar at to apprise the students for growing opportunities in the field of animation and 3D work.
Mr Naveen Gupta, Executive Director, Frameboxx said that a major chunk of Hollywood work for conversion of movies into stereo 3D conversion is being outsourced to India in a big way and one of the leading Indian studio, Prime Focus, has recently bagged an order of US$ 2 billion, and there is a huge demand for trained manpower to handle the work.
He informed that Prime Focus is opening its fifth studio in Mohali in Quark SEZ Park by the end of this month and requires 3000 youngsters to handle the work flow, opens up tremendous opportunity for the youth in the entire northern region to become specialists in this field. Animation studios are primarily concentrated in big metros like Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Chennai, and it is good news that Prime Focus has chosen to set up such a large facility here in Mohali, Mr Gupta said.

Mr Naveen Gupta said that Frameboxx has planned a fast-track 3-months module to provide training in VFX, and the specialised programme on conversion of movies into 3D, using the Prime Focus's proprietary platform of View-D™ 2D to stereo 3D conversion. A large number of youngsters attended the seminar and interacted with the technical team from Prime Focus and Frameboxx.
