Software major Microsoft and design software maker Autodesk Friday signed an agreement with the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) to provide free software to over 10,000 engineering and architectural institutes in the country.

Moorthy Uppaluri, general manager, Microsoft India said that this will provide access to software to millions of students who design projects as part of their curricula and otherwise.

The softwares like Window phone, visual Studio, Explorer-9 will be freely available via the AICTE website.
