EEDAR projects growth rates of between 5% and 8% annually for the next decade
and we see London as a prime geographical area to emerge as host to a qualified game development cluster, says Jesse Divnich, Vice President of Capital Research and Communications with Electronic Entertainment Design and Research out of San Francisco. London is already recognized as being a major player in the game development industry because of its cluster of internationally successful firms including Digital Extremes and Big Blue Bubble, adds Divnich.
A wide range of programming and speakers will be offered at DIG including the GameExpo where attendees can play a wide range of Canadian made international best-selling console, web, and PC games in theatre style seating on big screens, an Industry Trade-show, and Games Career Workshop for those looking to enter the industry.
DIG speakers represent iconic Canadian gaming brands and leading developers including Microsoft Canada, Electronic Arts, Silicon Knights, Slant Six Games, and Digital Extremes. Since our inception in 1993 we have seen Canadian talent and technology establish Canada as the third largest video game producer in the world. DIG helps us raise the profile of Canadian studios and technology and connects the Canadian players, says Mike Schmalz, CEO of Digital Extremes and DIG Speaker.
