CG Today - inSANETHQ Inc. announced today it has entered into a multi-year agreement with Guillermo del Toro, writer and director of Hellboy and the Oscar-winning Pan’s Labyrinth, to create inSANETM, an original trilogy of triple-A games. To be developed by Volition, Inc.®, inSANE will deliver an unprecedented cinematic experience while redefining storytelling in gaming. The first chapter in the series is expected to launch in 2013.

Del Toro will serve as external creative director for the games, working closely with THQ Executive Vice President, Core Games Danny Bilson, THQ Director of Fiction Development Paul DeMeo and THQ’s Volition, Inc. studio on the development of the trilogy. In addition, THQ and del Toro will collaborate on potential transmedia projects surrounding the inSANE games.

CG Today - KinectMicrosoft Xbox 360 game console have surpassed the sales of the Nintendo Wii and Sony PlayStation 3 for six consecutive months in the United States. Impressive sales of the Xbox 360 is supported by higher sales of Kinect since it was launched November 4, according to the analysis of firm NPD Group.

CG Today - Call of DutySales of boxed software, hardware and accessories were up during November in the US by 8 per cent, the first rise in the market for seven months.

The market generated $2.99 billion in revenues, up from $2.76 billion for the same month last year. Year to date sales are $14.73 billion, 5 per cent down on 2009.

Microsoft's Xbox 360 sold 1.37 million units during the month, up 68 per cent, while Bloomberg reports the PlayStation 3 sold 530,000 units, down 25 per cent on last year.
