An entire world build out of 3D wireframes - the only real element is the new VW Passat with "Bluemotion" technologies.
DDB India a leading full service creative digital agency which offers end-to-end digital branding solutions hired an experienced VFX and live action shooter Martin Weisz through Soup film in Germany for the launch campaign of the new VW Passat. The entire world build out of 3D wireframes and the only real element is the VW Passat with "Bluemotion" technologies. The live action parts of the spot were shot through Weird Pictures in Los Angeles and Sway Studios was responsible for the wireframe worlds and VFX of the spot. The whole campaign involves the launch spot and a matching print campaign featuring the wireframe assets from the spot production. Since the turnaround was just 4 weeks from shoot to finished product, just the stills for the print campaign were rendered in hi-res.
The live action part was shot entirely in green screen on a small insert stage in Santa Monica, USA. Since the new VW Passat car had a lot of new and updated interior features, almost the entire interior of the car was replaced with photo elements from DDB India.
The Spot was aired during the Cricket World Cup in India. The first 40 games were watched by a record 147 mio viewers.
