CG Today - Zoic LogoConnecting with loved ones during the holiday season shines in "Frozen Moments" a new spot for Famous Footwear directed by Loni Persitere for agency Campbell Mithun featuring visual effects by Zoic Studios.

The commercial is about a young woman who is reacquainted with the love of her life during the holidays.

"The ideal situation for a director is to have a creative team that is willing to do what it takes to lead advertising with an emotional center that drives the brand," says Director Loni Peristere. "'Frozen Moments' was one of those projects, and it was a true pleasure to make. I am extremely happy with this short emotional film about families and the holidays."

CG Today - Narnia

Cinesite, one of the world’s leading film visual effects houses, has completed visual effects on the new Twentieth Century Fox/Walden Media film, "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader", which was released in cinemas on December 9.

For the third installment in the Narnia film series, Cinesite were tasked with creating the White Witch, played by Tilda Swinton, green mist tendrils that embody evilness, a golden path of treasure and complex environments.

Postmodern VFX Supervisor James Rogers, along with Randy Vellacott, Peter Spierig, Michael Spierig and Rangi Sutton won the Best Visual Effects Award for Daybreakers at the 2010 Australian Film Institute Awards in Melbourne, held last Friday and Saturday night. The sci-fi vampire flick picked up the nod despite facing stiff competition from the industry's finest.

Postmodern created over 300 shots for the film including pivotal scenes such as the expansive Blood Farm, car chases, exploding heads, fully 3D mutant vampires, digital armies, burning Ethan Hawke, and the slow decapitation of Sam Neill.
